About Barefoot Tides
Who would have thought inheriting a 12 year old Kelpie would bring us to where we are today?
A sustainable bespoke brand built on the love of an old dog named Lucy. Throwing her beloved thong on the beach twice a day made me aware of sea glass.
I became so invested in finding sea glass it now also included people collecting for me that I met at the beach with their dogs.
These beautiful souls became known as my sea glass fairies and would often leave piles of sea glass at my doorstep to add to my growing collection.
Seven years on my sea glass hunting now includes pieces from around the world and from remote beaches we have found on our sailing adventures.
With my daughter now heavily invested in this vision, we brought this brand alive with our creative wisdom. Barefoot Tides was born.
Our family ran business has the environment first and foremost in our brands mission. To enjoy the ocean lifestyle and create a responsible brand footprint for you to enjoy and cherish.

What is Pirate Glass?
Pirate Glass was made using iron-rich sand giving the glass
its dark appearance. Many pieces were lost from ships or dumped near ports.
Pirate glass dates back to the 17th to mid 18th
century.
Most colours are dark green, olive green or deep brown with
visible air bubbles due to the hand made process.
Our pieces regularly feature this rare glass.
